Looking at an ideal situation, a safety net for walking across a tight rope seems not relevant. But, there is always but.....in the event of an unplan incident or scenario coming into play, there you are. So, to be prepared for any uneventuality would pay handsome rewards or dividends. Psychologically, the mind is put at ease. At least we have provide for something uncalled for to happen. Studies have shown some casualties were knocked off because of shock & disbelief and not because of accident. It is that precious little minutes prior to such sad moment when CPR is to rescue. Critics may say death is certain, but life is not so. So it is there just in case you need it!
