Non Communicable disease (NCD)

By courtesy of WHO research fellows the following information would be shared so as to prevent/help fight the uphill challenges together.

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes, are the leading cause of mortality in the world. This invisible epidemic is an under-appreciated cause of poverty and hinders the economic development of many countries. The burden is growing - the number of people, families and communities afflicted is increasing. Common, modifiable risk factors underlie the major NCDs. They include tobacco, harmful use of alcohol, unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity, overweight/obesity, raised blood pressure, raised blood sugar and raised cholesterol. The NCD threat can be overcome using existing knowledge. The solutions are highly cost-effective. Comprehensive and integrated action at country level, led by governments, is the means to achieve success.
40 millionof the 56 million global deaths in 2015 were due to NCDs
48%of NCD deaths in low- and middle income countries in 2015 occurred before the age of 70
80%of premature heart disease, stroke and diabetes can be prevented.

Pindapata

Best wishes for 2018. On this raining morning friends, devotees, brothers & sisters in the dhamma assembled in the Wat Ananda Metyarama. Charity starts on the first day of the new year. The thought moment of giving voluntarily comes to mind right on the first morning of the new year. This cultivates community spirit. After the marathon midnight chanting, we rejoice by offering alms to the sangha order members. We usher the new year chanting amidst fireworks display booming at esplanade. To purify ones mind, do good avoid evil.

Hoist a heavy person

Ricky is glad to share this short video. It shows an electro-mechanical hoist. This helps nursing healthcare service provider. Some patients are very heavy weight. This hoist helps to elevate the heavy patient from bed to wheelchair and vice versa. Many nurses find it a burden and often sprain their wrist in their course of lifting the patient. By acquiring this bedside aid, many occupational injury can be prevented. It gives nurses a sigh of relief and improve productivity. Both patient and care giver stand to benefit from using hoist. Cheers! what an innovative idea for service providers.
